Joan Lorenz
Joan Monchak Lorenz has a well-rounded personal and professional life. In her nursing career, she worked in a variety of health care settings as a Registered Nurse, Educator, and Consultant.
Joan has nomad feet and has relocated numerous times, living in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut, Nebraska, Idaho, Texas, Florida, and most recently Wyoming. She has moved once again, this time to Washington, DC. She also spent 3 summers in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico – where her heart continues to reside.
Joan is an active member of the American Medical Writers Association and is certified through them as an Editor/Writer. She has written numerous health care related articles for consumers and continues to write topics for nurses’ continuing education. Joan has authored two books: Stressed Out About Difficult Patients and Evidenced Based Nursing Practice both published by HCPro, Inc. of Marblehead, Massachusetts.
Joan enjoys exploring new places and new ways of doing things. Her goal in writing for Suite 101 is to share some of the beautiful places she has lived and visited in her travels. Please feel free to let her know what you think.
